Rose Garden

Ooty Lake
Ooty Lake is a man-made lake glorifying the beautiful hill station of Ooty. The Collector of Coimbatore, John Sullivan built this lake in 1824 AD. occupying a wide area of land of about 65 acres, with approximate depth being 40 feet. The lake receives its supply by the mountain streams of the valley of Ooty.

Botanical Garden
This garden was laid out in 1897 by the Marquis of Tweedale and is spread over 55 acres. Lush green, well maintained lawns, rare trees species , a 20 million year old fossilized tree, an Italian-style garden bordering a clear pool, a vast variety of flowering bushes and plants in myriad hues , fern house with a vast range of ferns and orchids, are some of the many highlights of this garden

Ooty Tea Factory
Ooty Tea Factory or Tea Museum is situated on the Doddabetta Road in Ooty. Surrounded by emerald green tea plantations, the museum takes you on a tour of tea evolution from the origin to the present. It has a variety of preserved tea leaves on display. It also has an adjacent souvenir shop where you can try and buy various kinds of tea leaves.

Doddabetta Peak
Doddabetta is situated on the niligiri ranges, it is at the height of 2637 metres. It is a combination of two words Dodda meaning big and Betta which means mountain. Peak gives you the enchanting view of hills, passing by clouds, plains, terrains, toy trains, lakes and lot more from a peak, the views similar to Switzerland.

Pine Forest
Nestled in the slopes of Nilgiris, the Pine Tree Forest is a grove of orderly growing pine trees that are several hundreds of years old. These ancient woods are home to a wide variety of fauna, ranging from fluttering butterflies that delight the air to wild goats that roam the woods.

It is 6th miles and 9th miles away from Ooty. It is a part of the Wenlock Downs and numerous Indian movie shootings have taken place over the years. The area is surrounded by dense Shola forests, and those form a stunning backdrop for these extensive lush green grasslands.

The Pykara Falls
The Pykara is the largest river in the District. The Pykara river rises at Mukurthi peak. It passes through hilly tract, generally keeping to North and turns to West after reaching the Plateau’s edge. It gets down majestically in a series of cascades; and the last two falls of 55 meters and 61 meters are known as Pykara falls. They are about 20 kms from Ooty.

Pykara Boat House
The Lake Pykara is hidden inside the dense forest of the Nilgiris. Boating on the Pykara lake is enjoyable. The lake has one of the best boating facilities in Ooty, with various options made available through the boathouse run by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.
